ABOUT EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING

Horses are able to co-regulate with us.

Their heartbeats sense ours.

We can manage our own.

Match theirs.

Time slows.

In this aware and focused state, we can see if our thoughts are more free. Our minds may find some hidden ideas.

Pausing with intention, we invite revelations.

Equine Assisted Learning facilitators guide interactions between you and the therapy horses. An element of somatic experiencing is woven in, connecting self (body), environment (nature) and other ( the herd).

Through focused awareness practice, observation, and hands-on connection with the horses, you are guided through an exploration of feelings, ideas, and patterns. Therapy horses are partners, guides and mirrors. So much can be learned and experienced in one session.

Against The Wind Coaching offers EAL sessions and integrative coaching sessions designed specifically for artists and creatives.

Elise Salomon has over 15 years of experience as a recovery and life skills coach and companion. She is a certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator and graduate of the highly lauded Shakti Ranch program in Malibu, California.

Yes, in conjunction with the EAL sessions, Against The Wind Coaching includes 2 separate hour-long virtual integration sessions. For an additional fee, more virtual creative coaching sessions may be scheduled for continued support through your creative process.

Healing After a Difficult Creative Endeavor

Creation is an emotional experience, and for many artists, it can be an incredibly taxing and triggering journey. Those who are not engaged in artistic expression may not fully grasp how exhausting this creative process can be. Some artists power through their projects, often neglecting self-care and the importance of artist support along the way. Upon completing a project, many artists experience feelings of grief, confusion, anxiety, and loss, which can be overwhelming. It’s essential to recognize when you may need to reset your nervous system and seek support for the emotions that have surfaced. Creative coaching, along with Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions, can be excellent tools to help navigate these challenges.

Seeking Help with Creative Blocks

Often, artists face challenges in compartmentalizing their thoughts and emotions. In today's world, many individuals with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion struggle to focus and create. This is where Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions come into play, offering vital artist support that helps participants reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and uncover new insights. Many clients report feeling grounded, calm, centered, and peaceful after just one session of creative coaching.

Focusing Energy Between Projects

Whether you are managing several projects in your medium, switching between mediums, embarking on a career shift, or struggling to decide which project to pursue, Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) can provide the artist support you need. Through creative coaching, EAL can enlighten, inspire, and clarify your path.

Refining Existing Work

Perspective is everything. EAL sessions, combined with creative coaching and integrative coaching, can illuminate the path and foster a new relationship with self-analysis, allowing us to critique without harmful messaging. Horses, being non-judgmental, enable us to connect and observe them, helping identify patterns and behaviors that may be holding us back, ultimately supporting our journey as artists.

Exploring New Work

Spending time in the presence of horses opens us up to ourselves, our future, our healing, our development, and our relationships. This practice, which is a form of Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), is about being curious and wondering. It honors the process of questioning and exploring, much like the support provided in artist support and creative coaching. Time moves more slowly for horses, and this EAL practice allows us to slow down, too. This gives us the space to dream, imagine, and let our minds wander to different landscapes and worlds.

Finding Your Authentic Voice

If you feel unsure of your authentic voice in your work and seek a deeper connection with that voice, consider the gift of EAL sessions and creative coaching. These integrative coaching experiences offer invaluable artist support. Horses act as mirrors, and spending time with them can reveal aspects of ourselves that we wish to understand better and bring forward.

AGAINST THE WIND COACHING

Online coaching alone may not be sufficient when you're navigating emotional issues, complex project hurdles, and creative blockages. We need to get back to nature, to reconnect with our environment, each other, and other living beings. It's essential to feel the breeze on our face, hear the leaves rustling, and notice the birds' wings flapping overhead as we plant our feet firmly in the ground.

I focus my facilitation practice on creatives because I believe in the power of storytelling and the importance of artist support. As we care for each other, ourselves, and this world, we can learn to listen more with our bodies and our hearts. We hear more clearly when art speaks to us.

This Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) model partners with horses to guide us, honoring creative voices and helping them carry their messages. Art has always been an essential form of communication; it transcends the ordinary.

Creation is an emotional endeavor that requires the artist to be in tune, open, contemplative, and meditative. It's about receiving energy, pulling in inspiration, and pushing through creative challenges. We navigate waves of messages, gain perspective, refine, and release.

My practice nurtures artists by holding precious space, offering creative coaching, and facilitating communication in different mediums. Together, we translate feelings, introduce ideas, and create vibrations that resonate.
