Horses are able to co-regulate with us.
Their heartbeats sense ours.
We can manage our own.
Match theirs.
Time slows.
Here, in this aware, focused state, we can see if our thoughts are more free.
If our minds find some hidden ideas.
Pausing with intention, we invite revelations.
Equine Assisted Learning facilitators guide interactions between you and the therapy horses. An element of somatic experiencing is woven in, connecting self (body), environment (nature) and other ( the herd).
Through focused awareness practice, observation, and hands-on connection with the horses, you are guided through an exploration of feelings, ideas, and patterns. Therapy horses are partners, guides and mirrors. So much can be learned and experienced in one session.
Against The Wind Coaching offers EAL sessions and integrative coaching sessions designed specifically for artists and creatives.
Elise Salomon has over 15 years of experience as a recovery and life skills coach and companion. She is a certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator and graduate of the highly lauded Shakti Ranch program in Malibu, California.
Yes, in conjunction with the EAL sessions, Against The Wind Coaching includes 2 separate hour-long virtual integration sessions. For an additional fee, more virtual creative coaching sessions may be scheduled for continued support through your creative process.
Creation is an emotional experience. Those who are not engaged in artistic expression may not understand how taxing, dysregulating, exhausting, and triggering a creative journey may be. Some artists power through, focused only on the project, denying or suppressing the need for self-care through the endeavor. Upon completion of a project, many artists feel a sense of grief, confusion, anxiety and loss. You may need to reset your nervous system. You may need support for things that were brought to the surface. These EAL sessions and integrative coaching are excellent tools to help.
Often times, artists have difficulty compartmentalizing. Especially now, people with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion are finding it hard to focus and to create. EAL sessions bring us back into body, regulate our nervous system and bring discoveries to the surface. Many clients express feeling grounded, calm, centered and peaceful after just one session.
Whether you are managing several projects in your medium, switching between mediums, embarking upon a career shift, or having difficulty deciding which project to pursue, EAL can enlighten, inspire and clarify.
Perspective is everything. EAL sessions coupled with integrative coaching can illuminate the path, and provide a new relationship with self-analysis learning to critique without harmful messaging. Horses are non-judgemental and through observation and connection with them, we can identify patterns and behavior that are holding us back.
Spending time in the presence of horses opens us up. To ourselves, our future, our healing, our development and our relationships. This practice is about being curious. It's about wondering. It honors the process of questioning and exploring. Time moves more slowly for horses, and this EAL practice allows us to slow down, too.
If you feel unsure of your authentic voice in your work, if you are seeking more of a connection with that authentic voice, EAL sessions and integrative coaching are a beautiful gift to give to yourself. Horses are mirrors. Spending time with them, pieces of ourselves may be revealed and reflected that we wish to get to know better and bring forward.
Online coaching alone may not be enough when you're dealing with emotional issues, complex project hurdles and creative blockages.
We need to get back to nature. We need to be connected to our environment. To each other. To other living, breathing things.
We need to feel the breeze on our face. Hear the leaves rustling. Birds’ wings flapping overhead. Plant our feet in the ground.
I focus my facilitation practice on creatives because I believe in the power of storytelling.
As we care for each other, ourselves and this world, we can learn to listen more with our bodies and our hearts.
We hear more clearly when art speaks to us.
This EAL model partners with horses as they guide us, honoring creative voices, helping them carry.
Art has always been an essential form of communication. It transcends.
Creation is an emotional endeavor.
It requires the artist to be in tune. To be open. Contemplative. Meditative. Receiving energy. Able to pull in and push through. Navigate waves of messages. Gain perspective. Refine. Release.
My practice nurtures artists holding precious space, communicating in different mediums, translating feelings, introducing ideas, and creating vibrations.
